The Ducati Multistrada 1100 & 1100S

Individuality, Versatily and Practicality are three words that spring to mind.
The tall stance of the Multistrada 1100 along with its upright riding position give an uncompromised view of the road ahead. The riding position assisting in the ability to flick this slender chassis through the tightest of chicanes. In town these attributes assist again. The long travel suspension offers excellent comfort for both rider and pillion, simply absorbing any challenge from cobbles to pot holes. In fact the Multistrada has few boundaries with regard to application - Thus "Practicality".
As with the ST3 series, the 50% reduction in maintenance for the 2007 Multistrada 1100 makes this a most viable choice for even the highest of mileage users.
The very individual styling positively stands out in the crowd from the modular front fairing to the high exit twin rear exhaust outlets through to the single sided monoshock swingarm. This bike really does have its own personality.
Powered by the Desmo 1100 L-Twin engine torque and power are available in a plentiful supply. The dual spark system of this new engine aids to increase the fuel economy and offers excellent punchy response to rider demands.
The fully adjustable suspension on the Ducati Multistrada allows for optimised setups for all road conditions and/or ride styles. The vibration isolated handlebars simply add to rider comfort for those all-day rides.
The Multistrada 1100S version boasts uprated suspension which includes an Ohlins rear shock and forks (The forks being TiN coated), lightweight tapered handlebars, carbon fibre cam belt covers and carbon front mudguard. All aimed at accentuating the "Sports" aspect of the Multistrada's character.![]() | ![]()

The Ducati S2R 1000

1000cc POWER The Monster S2R 1000 blends sport with character -- the power of the 1000cc air cooled engine combines with the Trellis frame to pack a punch and confidence into every corner. The S2R 1000 is the ideal choice for anyone who wants the ‘mean’ look of the SR series with more power and the simple beauty of an air-cooled engine.
The most powerful of the air-cooled Monster's is driven by the highly efficient and ultra-reliable 1000 Dual Spark engine, delivering 95bhp of high torque power. The 1000 DS engine was developed with the specific objectives of increased broad linear power and increased efficiency, and the result is ideal for the S2R 1000. The Dual Spark solution gives a more efficient combustion and boosts power, especially at low and medium rpm, and when combined with advanced fuel injection and computer engine control, the 1000 DS never fails to thrill.
The adjustable Showa 43mm inverted forks and a Sachs rear shock smooth out the bumps and add their share of poise to the impeccable road manners of the Ducati S2R 1000 . For exceptional stopping power and safety, high performance Brembo callipers grip twin 320mm discs up front and a single 245mm disc at the rear all helping to provide the finishing touches to this air cooled Monster.

The Ducati Monster 1100 & 1100S

Ducati tested the water with the new Monster 696 in 2008 with New looks....New Engine....New Chassis......but somehow retaining the same soul this model was recieved well worldwide and in the UK, demand far outstripped supply.
For 2009 the new Ducati Monster 1100 and 1100S have been released. Only days after its release the Monster 1100 is recieving excellent reports from those journalists fortunate enough to have ridden this all new Ducati machine.
As with the M696, this is far from a simple cosmetic makeover. Ducati follow one path of development; everything stems from their racing experiences (except for artistic flair perhaps - that we think has to come from within). The development of the Ducati Monster 1100 is no exception to the rule.
The Ducati Monster 1100 is some 40 mm higher in seat height than the Ducati 696, however with a replacement seat this difference can be brought down to a mere 20mm.
What's been changed........
- Brakes - The Ducati Monster 1100 now has radially mounted brembo calipers and radial master cylinder
- Steering angle has been made steeper to ensure faster "turn in" when demanded.
- Single sided rear swing arm
- Desmosedici style frame that has been combined with a cast alloy subframe to produce this all new chassis.
- An all new stylish digital dashboard.
- Increased fuel tank capacity.
- Using the dual spark 1100 aircooled engine derived from the Hypermotard this is the most powerfull aircooled monster to date. Weight has been saved in the engine department with the new vacuum cast crank and outer cases.
- Improved rideability - especially at low revs thanks to a new ECU .
- Improved night vision with a triple parabola headlamp and bright LED tail light.
- Weight has been reduced substantially which married with the geometry changes mentioned above make the Ducati Monster 1100 a most flickable machine
These are only the major changes to the Ducati Monster 1100....................................
All in all this has produced a new generation Ducati Monster that is the lightest bike in its class at a mere 169kg
Both Ducati Monster models are offered standard with a thatcham approved immobiliser.

The Ducati 696

Step into the cult of the NEW Monster family... Ducati Monster 696
For the first time in 15 years the Ducati Monster has been changed. New looks....New Engine....New Chassis......Same Soul!!
This is far from a simple cosmetic makeover Ducati follow one path of development; everything stems from their racing experiences (except for artistic flair perhaps - that we think has to come from within). The development of the Ducati Monster 696 is no exception to the rule.
What was the design criteria for the Ducati Monster 696? - A comfortable motorcycle that could provide a smooth and agile ride that maintained the soul of the Ducati Monster as we knew it....... TALL ORDER!!

- Steering angle has been made steeper to ensure faster "turn in" when demanded.

These are only the major changes to the new Ducati Monster 696.................................
APTC CLUTCH The Adler Power Torque Clutch, a Ducati exclusive, makes the Monster 696 even friendlier, safer and more comfortable. It provides a clutch pull that is amazingly light, while also including ‘slipper’ clutch benefits. A ‘slipper’ clutch, typically found on race bikes, benefits the rider by reducing the destabilizing rear wheel ‘lock-up’ or ‘chatter’ phenomenon when downshifting aggressively. It also benefits advanced riders, and racers alike, for the very same reasons. |
All in all this has produced a new generation Monster that is the lightest bike in its class at a mere 161kg with a power increase of some 10% and torque improvements of nearly 15% over the M695 of 2007. More comfortable, more agile and a smoother ride.
As for the styling.....we love it!!

Ducati GT1000 Specifications
The Ducati Sport Classic family

One model - Two versions was what we mentioned on the Sport 1000 details. In truth the Ducati Sport 1000S is also a variation on these models.
As with the Ducati Sport 1000 Monoposto, the Ducati Sport 1000S is truly styled around the cafe racer design with a layed forward riding position thanks to the low clip-ons and rear set footrests. The rider is faced with the same retro styled white faced dash that supplies all the information a rider could want including the time of day. In the case of the 1000S however all of this is beautifully cocooned in the sleek cafe racer cockpit fairing that has the mirrors mounted on it rather that the end of the handlebars.
As far as engine and running gear is concerned, the Ducati Sport 1000S as with the other two sport 1000 models is a bike that has been designed and built using the lastest technology, geometry and materials.
The rigid trellis frame that cunningly uses the engine as a stressed member married with the adjustable 43mm upside down Marzochi forks, adjustable twin sachs rear shocks and huge swingarm produces a chassis that will amaze in the first few miles of riding. The Retro looks are so convincing that it is hard for the mind to concieve that this bike really does handle like a supersports bike.
Its confidence inspiring feedback will soon have you putting the L-Twin 992cc air cooled engine through its paces. The sound of this machine is infectious....
Coming to a halt is no problem. Twin 320mm discs with 2 piston brembos ensure that this wolf in sheeps clothing stops on a sixpence.
The 1000S comes as standard with a removable rear seat cowl.Ducati Sport 1000S
